The Bible is full of references to God's tangle-bedraggled prophets who because of their obsession with God, end up living on the edge of town at the garbage dump, and looking up into the icy stars from their bed of empty spaggheti-o's cans, can smile and realize that they have the Lord God to cuddle up to in the night, and forever.
Psalm 73 says it for me...read it all...and is climaxed with this short statement...
Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
This is why when you unpack the word god you find the word good.
And this is why his existence and our relationship to Him is such a reliable beacon and comfort, even when we don't understand him and his ways any more than my puggle understands trigonometry.
